USAFA Trivia

USAFA Trivia

Using a 3D Virtual Campus Tour, the United States Air Force Academy gained a new and exciting way to showcase their campus and the features it had to offer. However, they wanted a way to to teach prospective students facts about their campus through a fun and engaging medium. The solution was to build a scavenger hunt within the virtual space using items throughout the campus as clues. Each clue was given a purple pulsating glow and to add to the challenge, the brightness varied on each item making some more difficult to find than others. Items ranged anywhere from a coffee pot to a basketball net. When right clicked on, each clue would provide a fact about the United States Air Force Academy. Then, located within each area, a trivia kiosk would allow the user to put that knowledge to work by answering trivia questions in order to earn points. These points were then able to be used to purchase clothing and accessories to customize the avatar used within the virtual campus tour.

Flight Simulator: Experience an F22

Flight Simulator: Experience an F22

The United States Air Force Academy wanted to provide cadets with an experience unlike any other. The flight simulator was created as a game in order to provide a training experience for new cadets to understand wind resistance and the reaction of wind to the F22 during maneuverability. Cadets were to fly the F22 and to calculate the trajectory and the wind resistance throughout the entire simulation. This 3D simulation was delivered to the client via the web and is also implemented into their learning management system. While this is not a complete flight simulator it does provide an educational experience for the cadets in gaining a firm understanding of the wind resistance acquired by the F22 during flight.
